Jess Buffier
Director | Personal Trainer
Hi, Im Jess, Director of Balance Holistic Fitness, and I’m incredibly proud to lead the diverse and dedicated team we have here.
I’m not your typical personal trainer - I’m all about balance, sustainability, and helping people build health that fits into real life.
My approach is shaped by both professional experience and lived experience. I’ve navigated my own health challenges over the years, which has reinforced for me that health is never linear and the right support can make a real difference. I’m passionate about supporting people returning to exercise after injury or illness, as well as carers and women navigating health changes. I love working with clients of all ages and a wide range of health and functional needs, and I have extensive experience working within the NDIS and My Aged Care space.
At home, life is full - I’m a mum to three kids, two with special needs - which has shaped my understanding of care, patience, and adaptability. When I’m not in the gym, you’ll usually find me with a coffee in the sun at Killibinbin or down at Shark Bay with my family. If you’re looking for support that meets you where you’re at, I’d love to help you find your version of Balance.

Analise Evans
Accredited Exercise Physiologist
My name is Analise Evans, and I am an Accredited Exercise Physiologist passionate about preventative healthcare through movement and exercise. After gaining my accreditation from the University of Wollongong in 2024, I moved to the Eurobodalla area in 2025. I currently lead the Falls Prevention and GLA:D classes at both the Broulee and Batehaven clinics, and I also facilitate Core and Floor classes in Broulee as needed.
I enjoy the balance of leading group classes and providing one-on-one care. While classes allow me to support many people at once, individual sessions enable me to tailor programs specifically to your unique needs. As a member of the disability community myself, I particularly enjoy working with clients managing disabilities, as well as those managing chronic pain, balance issues, and osteoarthritis.
Outside of work, I am a bit of a homebody, but you might also find me at the gym, exploring our beautiful region, or participating in dance classes, which I also occasionally teach.

James Kwok
Accredited Exercise Physiologist
G'day! I am James, an Accredited Exercise Physiologist graduated from The University of Sydney. I had grown up in Hong Kong, lived in Sydney in my formative years, and have now found home in the beautiful South Coast of NSW.
I did not like sport or exercise when growing up. This changed when I moved to Australia where sport was compulsory at school (I played rugby union as a winger for a season - had absolutely NO IDEA was I was doing!), and was drawn to the gym because I wanted to look bigger. I absolutely hated it at the beginning, as I was utterly confused and overwhelmed by the body image culture and the sheer volume of information out there. But as a bored teen running into multiple injuries, I had slowly learned more about exercise principles, and eventually realised how much fun it was to experiment with exercise. My exercise journey began with inadequacy, but what kept me going was the joy of learning, the sense of achievement, and the physical and social vitality that I derived from exercising. I wish to enable this transformation in every client I come across. After all, the beast looks less scary the more you understand it.
I have had multiple years of experience training at the gym; and I have dabbled in martial arts, endurance sports, and underwater rugby (yes it's a thing). I love history podcasts, cooking half-decent meals, and making the most of my time on earth by discovering new places and communities.

Genevieve Montefiore-Gardner
Group Fitness Instructor
Hi, I’m Genevieve! My fitness journey began when I was 14, though I’ve always loved sports and was a competitive gymnast growing up. Like many young women, I struggled for years with body image and the repetitive cycle of overexercising. When I finally got a gym membership at the age of 16, I began to focus on strength training and my mindset shifted.
I decided then that I wanted to become a personal trainer to help other women bypass the negative stereotypes, mindset, and relationship with exercise that I went through on my fitness journey. I want to help women build a balanced, positive relationship with movement - one where exercise is a celebration of what your body can do and achieve, rather than a punishment for what it has consumed.
I’m currently on my own powerlifting journey outside of work, with the goal of competing nationally. When I’m not coaching or training myself, I’m most likely studying to become a personal trainer, or at the beach, exploring my new home. Having grown up in Canberra, I deeply appreciate a sunset walk on the beach!

Katrina Cowie
Practice Manager
Hi, I'm Kat. As Practice Manager, I love being one of the first points of contact for our clients and helping create a welcoming, positive experience from the moment they connect with us. I enjoy building genuine relationships and supporting both our clients and team wherever I can. Making people feel comfortable, heard, and valued is one of the most rewarding parts of my role.
Having lived on the South Coast since I was eight years old, I consider myself a true local and couldn't imagine calling anywhere else home. Outside of work, I'm a passionate animal lover and currently share my home with two miniature dachshunds and a Quaker parrot. One day, I'd love to own an animal sanctuary where animals can live their happiest and most comfortable lives.
When I'm not at work, you'll usually find me enjoying live sport and music, spending time outdoors fishing, or making memories with family and friends.

Alison Coles
Physiotherapist
Hi, I'm Ali. I've been a physiotherapist for over 35 years and have had the privilege of working across a wide range of clinical settings throughout my career. After establishing Cooma Physiotherapy Centre in 1988, I spent many years supporting clients throughout the Snowy Mountains region before relocating to Canberra and joining a large multidisciplinary practice.
Sport has always been a passion of mine, and I've worked with sporting teams at local, state, and national levels, with a particular interest in men's hockey at Masters Championships. I've also been fortunate to travel internationally with teams competing overseas.
In recent years, my focus has been on occupational rehabilitation while continuing to run a small private practice. Having recently moved to Mossy Point, I'm excited to be part of the Balance Holistic Fitness team and look forward to helping people stay active, recover from injury, and achieve their goals.

Patch - Gym Dog
Director of pats
Patch is our much-loved gym dog and unofficial Chief Morale Officer. Our friendly Cavoodle has been a valued member of the team since 2025 and can often be found making his rounds between both clinics, ensuring everyone receives their daily dose of smiles, pats, and snuggles.
When he's not greeting clients or supervising the team, Patch enjoys long walks on the beach, sampling any cheese that comes his way, and occasionally helping himself to the odd unattended tissue. His warm nature and wagging tail make him a favourite among clients and staff alike, and he's always happy to lend a paw when extra support is needed.
If you see Patch around the clinic, don't be surprised if he stops by to say hello - he takes his role as resident comfort specialist very seriously.
